Dementia clinical trials
Our clinical trials aim to find new treatments for Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
Most trials look at how people respond to a potential new treatment and what side effects might occur. This helps to determine if it's:
- effective
- safe
- better than what's available
Recently, The Dementia Centre was involved in trials for groundbreaking new medications such as lecanemab, the first successful Alzheimer's disease treatment trial in 20 years, and donanemab.
Why take part in a clinical trial?
Taking part in a clinical trial is free, voluntary and may give you early access to potential new treatments in Alzheimer's disease and dementia. By taking part, you contribute to research and help us find breakthrough treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
- Are you concerned about your memory or the memory of a loved one?
- Have you been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, dementia, Alzheimer's disease or a life-limiting illness?
If you answered 'yes' to either of these questions, you may be interested in participating in a clinical trial.
